Please join us in supporting the families of Tyler Barlow, Dalton Conway and Caleb Wilkinson as they work to build a permanent Seafarers Memorial in our community. Through the support of several community leaders, the family has developed a concept that will honor not only the lives of these three young men but also any in our community, past or future, with similar circumstances. The placement within St. Mary’s historic district is specifically meaningful given St. Mary’s notable past as one of the oldest fishing villages on the East Coast.
The family has presented this concept to the St. Mary's Historical Preservation Committee and is now scheduled to present the plan to St. Mary's City Council on October 7th. To make this project a reality, funds to build the memorial on municipal land will have to be raised. Current estimates make the total fundraising goal approximately $50,0000. All donations are tax-deductible and can be made on the link below or by mailing a check to 531 North Lee Street, Payee: Serve South – Seafarers Memorial Fund.

Serve South served as a community donation drop-off location and coordinated the transportation of donated supplies to Brantley County in partnership with Brantley County Family Connection. This effort helped connect community generosity with families and residents affected by the fire.
Serve South helped launch a free, twice-weekly community meal program to support local families experiencing temporary financial strain during the federal government shutdown. In partnership with the City of Kingsland and the Camden County Chamber of Commerce, the initiative brought together churches, civic groups, and community organizations to prepare and distribute meals. Georgia Power strengthened the effort by serving as a matching-funds donor, doubling community contributions and helping cover essential food and program supplies. Through this partnership, families were served with care, dignity, and practical support during a time of increased need.
Serve South established the Camden COVID-19 Community Relief Fund to support local organizations responding to the effects of the pandemic. Through generous contributions from corporate sponsors and community donors, the fund provided critical assistance to organizations working to reduce the burden of COVID-19 across Camden County. The Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation strengthened the initiative by matching community fundraising efforts with a $20,000 contribution. This support expanded the fund’s reach and helped local partners continue serving individuals and families during an unprecedented time.
